The chance to spend an hour with highly endangered mountain gorillas is certainly the main drawcard of a stay at Sabyinyo Silverback. The staff are friendly and attentive it feels like nothing is too much trouble from waking you up with fresh coffee to cleaning your hiking boots after you’ve trekked. The cottages are spacious and comfortable: a wood burning fire wards off chilly evenings, and each veranda has a hammock for lazy hours spent gazing at the green mountain views. Spread out around the gardens are six cottages, two suites and a 2-bedroom family cottage. The main lodge has a lovely lounge area and a terrace with dramatic views of the surrounding volcanoes.
